We take color so seriously that we recommend it as regular part of our hair analysis when discussing what actual outcome and look your trying to achieve.

Strand tests are used in color processes to ensure that the hair will respond properly to the processes planned, and that said processes won’t result in irreparable damage to the hair. It’s also important when the stylist cannot be certain what other colors or chemicals have been used on the hair in the past. For instance, hair that is colored using a metallic salt dye, such as those that offer gradual coverage of gray hair, will react horribly if exposed to the peroxide in the developer of traditional hair color. Often the result in these cases is that the hair melts completely.
This will save you time and money by not having to come back and fourth if you should not be completely be satisfied with the color you’ve chosen.
There are many kits being sold on the market today ( so called do it yourself methods ) but we highly recommend having a trained professional at Boardroom Hairstylists perform the STRAND TEST and we do it free of charge simply because we want to make sure working together you get it right the first time. Strand testing is a means by which to make sure that the hair will respond appropriately to the chemical service in question without risking the whole head and therefore seriously damaging the hair when it could be prevented.
HOW WE PERFORM A STRAND TEST
1- Come in for a free consolation, so that we can discuss your history, examine your skin tone eye color physical features and discuss any allergies. Please feel free to bring a photos with you of the kind of color and look your trying to achieve.
2-Depending on your hair length we will either cut or separate a strand that will not be clearly visible with your typical hairstyle.
3- Apply hair color to your chosen strand
4- Now we have several options , we can time the color every fifteen minutes ( Hair color when applied changes as it starts to set ) witch means that several shades begin to develop as the process continues. Or we can wait 24 hours to make sure you are happy with the hair color results.
5- Its not unusual for to take a snip of hair from our clients on the go at Boardroom Hairstylists then actually text or email the images hair color results. Of course we would only proceed with any actual hair coloring until actually going over the results with you in person.
6- Final step, if you as a client are happy with the color, we then proceed to the full application.
